Eric D. Subin, Esq.

Biography

Eric Subin is a highly successful trial attorney with experience in international law and complex civil litigation. As Principal Trial Attorney at Subin Law, Eric leads the firm’s continued evolution, maintaining its foundation in personal injury while growing the practice to include civil rights litigation, emerging technologies, and meaningful advocacy for New Yorkers.

Eric earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University, a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and completed additional studies at the University of Oxford and the Cayman Islands Law School.

His first immersion into international law came during the prosecution of former Liberian President Charles Taylor. Taylor was the first head of state convicted by a hybrid international and national court since the Nuremberg trials after World War II. In 2011, The Hague convicted Taylor of 11 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Working with the Office of the Prosecutor, led by Brenda J. Hollis, Eric experienced the intensity of high-risk international litigation. This experience gave Eric a strong dedication to his clients and tactical planning, qualities that shape his approach to defending victims today.

Soon after, Eric Subin further developed his expertise at DeHeng Law Group, the premier international law firm in Beijing and one of the largest in China. There, he ensured client corporations adhered to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). This corporate experience sharpened his capacity to navigate intricate legal frameworks and strengthened his capacity to manage complex or cross-border cases.

In 2012, Eric returned to New York to join his family’s firm, Subin Associates LLP, where he built a reputation representing victims of negligence in high-profile litigation. Over the past decade, he secured more than $200 million in settlements and verdicts involving police misconduct, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex liability claims. His results include multiple seven-figure settlements, a $102 million award under the Child Victims Act, and jury verdicts of $17 million and $14.5 million against the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Recognized for his deliberate precision and uncompromising advocacy, Eric has been named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list and the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40. His work and legal insight have been featured in outlets including The New York Times, CBS, and the New York Law Journal.

As Principal and Lead Trial Attorney at Subin Law, he remains devoted to supporting the people of New York. Mr. Subin’s approach is based on strategy, integrity, and execution, assuring every client, regardless of the odds, has a fierce and unrelenting advocate in their corner.
